How do you read an article? Start to finish without skipping, or do you survey the article before delving in deeper? Captions, together with their images, help the reader survey the article and lead the reader into the article. This project aims to improve captions in Wikipedia articles with pictures, in accordance with Wikipedia:Captions.

Scope

This project aims to improve articles by writing good captions for images accompanying articles. Guidance can be found at Wikipedia:Captions.

Articles needing review

List articles here to have a participant review it and write captions as needed.

After review please strikethrough the reviewed article, noting who reviewed it and when. In the edit summary plese include a link to the reviewed article. After a week, reviewed article entries should be moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject Writing Captions/Reviewed log.

This list began as all unreviewed featured articles with images. Since captions are relatively new on the featured article criteria, it seems reasonable to review feature articles early in the process. Featured article candidates should also be systematically added to this list.

* This article is also listed at Template:Opentask as needing captions.
