Simon's Cat

Simon's Cat is an animated cartoon series by the English animator, Simon Tofield.

The first film in the series, entitled 'Cat Man Do' won the 'Best Comedy' award at the British Animation Awards 2008.[1]

The third film in the series, entitled 'TV Dinner' was shown on BBC2's Culture Show (July 15, 2008) before being released on YouTube.[2] In the same episode of the Culture Show, the director Simon Tofield was interviewed by Mark Kermode.

In an interview with Your Cat Magazine[3] Simon Tofield revealed that his three cats called 'Hugh', 'Jess' and 'Maisie' provide inspiration for the series, with 'Hugh' being the primary inspiration.


As of October 2008, the series stands at 3 episodes. The first three episodes are:

  • Cat Man Do
  • Let Me In
  • TV Dinner

According to the Simon's Cat YouTube page the series is animated with the software Adobe Flash
